JOB PURPOSE
The Business Support Assistant Programme (Chakki Fortification Project) will ensure timely support in implementation of all field activities in one of the above-mentioned districts, to effectively meet the operational needs of the chakki flour fortification through small scale mills (Chakki).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
1. Gather information with clear direction to support the drafting of documents and preparing reports by other staff.
2. Respond to queries and escalate where appropriate, in order to provide a timely and accurate service to clients.
3. Support processing and managing routine administrative and financial tasks in various functional areas, to contribute to the effective and timely management of resources.
4. Provide revision and proof-reading services for standard documents, to contribute to the development of accurate documentation.
5. Take responsibility for the maintenance of set standard systems and files, to ensure information is accurate and readily available for the function.
6. Identify simple discrepancies in statistics and data, such as missing information, and report to senior staff in order to support clients to deliver their work.
7. Take responsibility for data integrity to facilitate availability of accurate information in corporate systems.
8. Provide guidance on routine business support methods and practices to junior colleagues to ensure services are delivered consistently and to the required standards.
9. Work with a variety of individuals, taking on feedback where appropriate to assist in business support delivery for staff.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
10. Provide support to chakki project team on tech related backup and troubleshooting.
11. Support NFA on dashboard to record fortification data and support project montoring/social mobiliztion.
12. Accountabilities: Within delegated authority, the Business Support Assistant Programme (Chakki Fortification Project) will be responsible for the following duties:
13. Monitor all chakki flour fortification related activities including maintaining coordination with the supervisor and WFP project team.
14. Assist in capacity building activities for selected chakki mill staff, food inspectors, food safety officers, LHWs, lab staff and district focal persons on fortification, quality assurance and quality control
15. Assist in providing timely and adequate support to chakki flour fortification, installation of micro-feeders, its calibration and setting flow rate of premix as per standards prescribed by Pakistan standard and Quality control authority and PFA regulations.
16. Closely monitor the selected chakki mills to ensure that there is uninterrupted supply of premix to these chakki mills within allocated territory according to their requirements and perform timely coordination with the supervisor and project team.
17. Ensure timely and smooth supply of iron Spot test kits to chakki Mills and food inspectors for monitoring of fortification compliance at production, market and household level.
18. Collect samples of fortified chakki flour from the selected chakki mills on regular basis and ensure its receipt at identified labs as per experimental design
19. Notify the district Food Fortification Committee of monthly meetings.
20. Provide social mobilization support and raise awareness in consumers.
21. Support market and house-Hold surveys to monitor availability of adequately fortified chakki flour and ensure compliance keeping close coordination with the project team.
22. Assist project team in coordination measures with district government authorities for awareness raising activities at district level to generate demand in coordination with designed organization/agency as per directives.
23. Prepare and submit daily and monthly project plans and reports to Supervisor
24. Identify issues and bottlenecks related to chakki flour fortification activities in the field for timely sharing with the supervisor.
25. Perform other duties as and when required/assigned
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education: Completion of higher secondary school certificate, preferably supported by a university degree in Business Administration, Sociology, Nutrition or other relevant.
Experience: Four or more years of progressively responsible work experience in projects related to Fortification and/or relative business stream with experience in general administrative work.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word.
• Knowledge of work routines and methods in order to complete processes under minimal supervision.
• Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals.
• Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention.
• Ability to offer guidance or basic on-the-job training to more junior staff.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.
